The Arrangement

The Arrangement is a Premium comic by CBlack. This epic comic is 1,596 pages, in 15 chapters, and it's one of CBlack's finest. This is a dark tale that features an anti-hero named Daniel Kim, someone who is willing to utterly transform himself in order to lead the kind of comfortable, luxurious life he's hungered for. 

The Arrangement is the story of a grifter who has been kicked out of college and disowned by his family. Daniel Kim is a young man on a downward spiral. He's homeless, desperate, and is being hunted by ruthless thugs. Daniel has constantly lied, cheated and stolen in order to survive, and in the first chapter of this epic story, he finds himself cowering behind the bushes in the back yard of a successful, up-and-coming lawyer named Rex Dawes.

Rex discovers the intruder on his property. He has a soft spot for people who are down and out, but how long will Rex deign to offer Daniel refuge? Perhaps there's something Daniel can do to extend his stay in Rex's plush home!

An opportunity presents itself when Gloria, the boss's hot wife, shows up at Rex's house. She's a woman who seems eager to get into Rex's pants, and well aware of the fact that he doesn't have a girlfriend. But Gloria did spot a figure up on the second floor when she comes into the house.

Daniel overhears the conversation below, and knows that he is thin, petite and, from the right distance and under the right lighting, able to be mistaken for a woman. So he improvises, wraps a towel around his hair and another around his torso, and pretends to be a girl who's just hopped out of the shower.

The ruse works, except Gloria now expects Rex to bring this young lady to the party she and the boss are throwing the following weekend. Rex thinks that, since Gloria didn't get a good look at Daniel, perhaps he can find a girl to jump in and pose as this woman... but there's no way Daniel is going to let someone else muscle in on his hustle. Instead, he volunteers to play the part of Rex's girlfriend.

Rex is skeptical that it's feasible, but is willing to pay to see if Daniel can make a passable woman at the party, and the results are better than either Rex or Daniel imagined. Daniel is going to attempt to pass himself off as the kid sister of a childhood friend of Rex. The ruse is meant to be a one-time thing, but once Daniel has his hooks into a goldmine like Rex, he's reluctant to let go.

The guy is sweet, honorable and utterly clueless... just the kind of sucker that someone like Daniel can prey upon. Playing the part of a woman seems like a small price to pay in order to live a lavish life of comfort. Daniel's had to do much worse things in the past... the role he's playing now may be insipid, but it's so easy!

And so, Daniel Kim (not that that's his real name) will become Kim Daniels... and as the weeks go by, she becomes more and more feminine. And Gloria even takes her under her wing. She wants Daniel to have a proper partner so he can rise in the company. She's going to help Kim hook her man!

Kim's goal is to get Rex to see her not just as girlfriend material... but eventually as someone he wants to marry! Is it possible? Will Rex succumb to Kim's ever-increasing allure? And just how far will Kim go, how much will she change in order to win the role of Mrs. Rex Dawes?

She is well aware of the type of woman he is drawn to... and will endure many trying moments, such as an evening pretending to be a devotee of rom-coms, in order to play the part.

She'll even date other men to try and force Rex to see her as a woman and not the scrawny guttersnipe who wormed his way into his life. And while Daniel has sold his body in the past to men during desperate times, he finds that since he's taken on this new role as Kim, that men now hold far greater appeal.

A lot is changing in Daniel/Kim's life. And because this is a CBlack comic, there are some breathtaking twists and turns. This comic is over 1,500 pages, so Daniel's journey into womanhood is not going to be straightforward, that's for sure!

Kim may learn to play the part of a loving girlfriend, but that doesn't mean her heart will remain anything but stone, or that she's ever going to develop feelings for Rex, right?

As I mentioned at the top, this is a dark tale, and Kim's life will take some unsettling turns before her story is complete.
