Altered Fates 01: Fait Accompli

This is Volume 1 of a multi-part series!

Altered Fates: Fait Accompli is a Premium comic by JoJoTF, and it’s adapted from the classic TG tale by Raven. The original story was published on Fictionmania 25 years ago (in 1998), and it’s been popular ever since.

The original version of the story isn’t something we could post on TGC since it features characters under the age of eighteen, but fortunately JoJoTF has tweaked a few story elements so everyone involved is now an adult.

JoJoTF has done numerous other things to make the story her own. I’d like to think that Altered Fates: Fait Accompli has all the elements of the original story, and is now enhanced by JoJoTF’s take on the proceedings.

Altered Fates: Fait Accompli tells the tale of Harry and Maggie, a middle-aged couple with one son named Mark. Mark is home from college on spring break, and angry because he had a date with a gorgeous girl he’s wanted to hook up with since high school, but has had to cancel because his dad Harry won’t let him have the car. Now, with the help of a witch Mark meets online, he’s going to pay Dad back by casting a little spell that will cause enormous changes!

Mark is tired of his dad being the boss of him and wishes he could be the boss instead! “With this spell, I claim power over he who now holds sway over me.” Mark isn’t sure exactly what the spell will do… he just hopes it will change the current dynamic between him and his dad.

The spell is cast on the eve of Father’s Day, and when Harry wakes up in the morning, things are quite different. He’s been transformed from a gruff, middle-aged man to a young blonde hottie who looks like she’s nineteen or twenty years old… someone who could even pass for Mark’s younger sister!

Harry and Maggie are baffled by the transformation… until Mark confesses what he’s done. The question is, will he be able to undo the spell he’s cast? Or will his father be stuck as a pretty girl?
